CORE Ministry

We at the CORE Ministry of Island Grace Church live the abundant life Christ gives () through understanding and obeying His Word. CORE stands for Christ Our Redeemer Exalted and we believe that life is an act of lovingly worshiping Christ through our thoughts, words, and actions ().  At the CORE we believe the Word of God is the voice of God. When it speaks God speaks so we know and obey Christ through a deep understanding and explanation of the Truth.  So every Friday we sit under teaching that deeply explains the Bible. We believe this is how we grow and get equipped in Christ to serve Him ().

Discipleship is how God further equips the believer to know Christ (). Through these highly focused times in the Word the believer is challenged to Biblically apply truth to everyday living (roommates, school, work, unmarried life, married life, etc.). Discipleship groups meet throughout the week and are available by request.

When the believer is saved, Christ gives your spirit new life; in other words, He regenerates your core and empowers you to live freely and powerfully in Him (). No, we’ll never be perfect in this life () and we’ll struggle with sin; but Jesus gives us new direction and purpose to make much of His name and spread His fame throughout the world ().

12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (ESV)

16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (ESV)

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (ESV)

11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. (ESV)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (ESV)

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)
